Our prosthodontists at the New York Dental Specialty Group are dedicated to making your smile even more beautiful! We provide cosmetic and restorative treatments to improve the appearance and health of your teeth, all in the comfort of our Upper West Side dentist office.
Whether you want whiter teeth or need a missing tooth replaced, we work with each patient to develop a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan. Our prosthodontists use state-of-the-art technology and a gentle touch to enhance and restore the natural beauty of your smile.
There are many reasons why a prosthodontist may be consulted, including (but not limited to):
- Creation of partial or full sets of dentures.
- Desire to whiten the teeth or improve the aesthetics of the smile.
- Filling gaps created by one or more missing teeth.
- Interest in dental implants.
What treatments can the prosthodontist perform?
Prosthodontic treatments are designed to be functional, long lasting, and good looking! Some of the treatments our prosthodontists perform are:
Dental Implants – Implants are designed as a replacement for natural teeth that are either missing or broken. Like the natural roots of your teeth, titanium roots are implanted in the jawbone. Implants look and feel the same as natural teeth.
Dental Veneers – Veneers are covers that are bonded to the natural teeth. Either ceramic or porcelain veneers can instantly solve problems like uneven teeth, stained teeth, and damaged teeth.
Dental Crowns – Prosthetic crowns are designed to mimic the natural surface of the tooth. Generally made from porcelain, metal, or a combination, dental crowns are made to be durable and can last up to a decade.
Dental Bridges – To support a prosthetic tooth, your prosthodontist may use a conventional and cantilever bridges supported by either healthy natural teeth or dental implants.
Complete Dentures – If you have no teeth, a complete set of dentures can restore functionality to the mouth. After replacing the lost teeth with complete dentures, chewing and speaking will be much easier.
Partial Dentures – Where many teeth have been lost, removable or fixed partial dentures can prove to be an excellent option. Partial dentures improve both the appearance and functionality of your teeth.
What other problems can a prosthodontist treat?
Our prosthodontists are also adept at treating problems with the jaw (TMJ), alleviating severe snoring, managing sleep apnea, and reconstructing the teeth following oral cancer treatments. Generally, the prosthodontist works in combination with other dental health professionals to ensure the best possible restorative results are achieved.
